Help Make an Impact in the Indianola community

For Giving Tuesday, we’re sharing the heart behind the daycare at Indianola First Methodist Church.

Before the daycare opened, families in town had limited dependable options for infants and toddlers. Some childcare existed, but many parents were still piecing things together week to week. It added stress at home and made it harder for people to take jobs or consider moving to Indianola. Several employers shared the same concern childcare was one of the first questions people asked before deciding whether to put down roots here.

As we listened to our community, it became clear that a steady, trustworthy place for young children would make a real difference for families. Indianola needed a ministry that supported parents in their daily lives and offered something stable for the youngest in our town.

That’s why Indianola First Methodist Church opened the daycare. From the beginning, it has been about ministry. Our hope has been simple to give young children a safe, calm place to grow and to hear God’s word at an early age, and to come alongside parents who are already teaching their children at home.

Having dependable childcare in town has helped families stay rooted here and has made everyday life a little easier for working parents. It has also given our youngest children a consistent place where faith is part of their day from the start.

This is the story we’re sharing for Giving Tuesday. The daycare at Indianola First Methodist Church began because our community needed it, and it continues to serve families in steady, ordinary ways that matter. We’re grateful for the chance to keep meeting the needs of Indianola, Mississippi.
