About Dr. Timothy Tennent
Dr. Timothy Tennent is a pastor, teacher, author, and longtime leader in the Methodist tradition. He currently serves as the Methodist Chair of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, where he teaches missions, world Christianity, and Wesleyan studies. He is also an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church.
Before joining Beeson, Tennent served for 15 years as president of Asbury Theological Seminary. He previously taught world missions and Indian studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and has spent more than three decades teaching internationally, particularly in India.
Tennent has written extensively about Christian discipleship, holiness, missions, and the challenges facing the Church today. His books include For the Body, The Call to Holiness, The Spirit-Filled Life, Foundations of the Christian Faith, and Invitation to World Missions.
His teaching is deeply rooted in Scripture, the historic Christian faith, and the Wesleyan understanding that God's grace does more than forgive us. God is at work transforming His people into holy lives for the sake of the world.
